🌱 Eterna Fresh Zero Waste Return & Reuse Policy
Purpose
At Eterna Fresh, we are committed to sustainability, stewardship, and community support. This policy outlines our commitment to zero waste by responsibly managing returned products through donation, repurposing, or transformation into usable resources.
1. Returned Product Evaluation Process
All returned or unsellable products undergo a three-tier evaluation process:
Tier 1 – Donation-Grade (Food-Safe & Sealed):
- Products that remain fully sealed, within shelf life, and in excellent condition will be donated to local food banks, shelters, or nonprofit community organizations.
- We prioritize feeding people in need with clean, nutritious food that meets our safety standards.
Tier 2 – Animal Feed Conversion (Unsealed but Clean):
- Products that are unsealed but have not been contaminated and still meet basic safety guidelines will be repurposed for local hog farms or animal feed operations.
- These items will be logged and tracked to ensure responsible usage under USDA feed guidelines.
Tier 3 – Fertilizer Transformation (Spoiled or Unusable):
- Items that are no longer suitable for consumption due to age, damage, or spoilage are inspected and processed into natural fertilizers or soil enhancers using our in-house or partner facilities.
- This reduces landfill use and supports regenerative agriculture.
2. Tracking & Transparency
- All returned products are logged in our Return-to-Resource Tracking System (RRTS).
- Monthly reports will be reviewed to ensure:
- Compliance with food safety and donation laws.
- Proper volume tracking of donations, feed usage, and fertilizer inputs.
3. Partnerships & Community Impact
- We maintain ongoing partnerships with:
- Local food banks and hunger relief organizations
- Certified local hog farms
- Composting and soil enrichment programs
We aim to create a closed-loop system that benefits the community, minimizes waste, and respects the resources that went into creating our food.
4. Employee & Vendor Compliance
- All team members and vendors involved in returns, inspections, and reprocessing must follow this policy strictly.
- Training is provided to ensure proper sorting, safety checks, and documentation.
5. Customer Communication
- Customers are encouraged to return any unsatisfactory products instead of discarding them.
- Our customer service team will provide instructions on how to return items responsibly and be part of the solution.
